Bridger Western Beginner Guide

Complete Beginner Guide
Start Here – Step by Step

Everything you need to start in Ridge B Valley. Character creation, spawn strategy, Moola farming, horse upgrade, and your first card.

🎮 Step 1: Character Creation & Alignment

Creating Your Character

When you first enter the game, select Create Character. You will then choose your alignment.

  • Create Character — Start a new character
  • Career — View your progression
  • Tutorial — Optional game tutorial

⚖️ Outlaw vs Inlaw

Choose Outlaw. It gives you more freedom and is the community-recommended choice. Currently there is not much mechanical difference between the two.

Tip: If you change your mind later, you can use the Wipe option to restart and choose again.

📍 Step 2: Spawn Point Strategy

Always Spawn at Red Corner

Red Corner is the closest spawn point to the fishing area, which is where you need to go first. Choosing the wrong spawn wastes valuable travel time.

  • Red Corner — Closest to fishing, recommended for beginners
  • ❌ Other spawns — Further from fishing, slower early-game start

See all spawn points: Spawn Locations Guide →

💰 Step 3: Starting Moola & Wipe Strategy

Starting Moola is Random

When you first spawn, you receive random starting Moola between 50 and 500.

  • 200+ Moola — Good start, proceed to fishing
  • Under 200 Moola — Use the Wipe strategy

🔄 Wipe Strategy

If you get less than 200 Moola on spawn:

  1. Press Wipe in the character menu
  2. Select Create Character again
  3. Choose Outlaw alignment
  4. Spawn at Red Corner
  5. Check your new starting Moola

🎣 Step 4: Start Fishing

Why Fishing First?

Fishing is the safest way to earn Moola — no PvP risk, consistent income, and a chance at rare drops.

Getting Started

  • • Buy Fishing Rod: 150 Moola
  • • Buy Bait: 15 Moola (makes fishing 2x faster)
  • • Fish at any water source

Key Drop Rates

  • Golden Bass: 0.1% → 15,000 Moola
  • Arrow Shard: 0.1% → Guarantees a Stand
  • Mares Leg: 2% → Secondary weapon

🐴 Step 5: Upgrade Your Horse

When to Upgrade

Once you have 1,000+ Moola, visit Horse Stables to replace your starting mule.

  • • Only buy horses priced 800 Moola or more
  • • Cheaper horses have poor stats
  • • Costs 20 Moola to reroll the selection

🌊 Horse Water Tech

Essential movement technique for crossing water:

  1. Mount your horse (press N)
  2. Start sprinting (hold Shift)
  3. Enter water while sprinting
  4. Immediately hold Space

Use this to reach the Mud Witch in the swamp.

Bridger Western Complete Beginner Guide – Step-by-Step Tutorial 2026

The Bridger Western beginner guide covers everything new players need to know about starting in Ridge B Valley. The first decision is alignment — Outlaw vs Inlaw — with Outlaw recommended for more freedom. Always spawn at Red Corner, the closest spawn point to the fishing area. Starting Moola is random (50–500), so use the wipe strategy if you get less than 200 Moola.

Bridger Western Moola farming starts with fishing — buy a rod (150 Moola) and bait (15 Moola) and fish until you have 1,000+ Moola. Then visit Horse Stables and buy a horse worth 800+ Moola. Use the horse water tech (Shift + Space in water) to cross to the swamp and visit the Mud Witch for your first free card.

For Bridger Western how to get a Stand, the safest method is Arrow Shard fishing (0.1% drop rate). See the Controls Guide for all keybinds, and the Guides FAQ for common beginner questions.
